Yellow & Red Rose

Hi Everyone,

When I was on vacation in Wisconsin, I went to the Green Bay Botanical Gardens with my friend whose name is also, Diane.  It was a rather hot, steamy, summer day in Wisconsin but we still enjoyed the beautiful flowers in bloom.  One of my favorites from that day was this yellow & red rose.  Its colors caught my eye and I couldn't help but take a picture of it.  I used my Lensbaby Velvet 56 lens which is perfect for roses as this lens gives an all over blur around the edges.  I especially like the look of blur.  Do you?

I want to get more pictures of roses this summer and so I hope to get to the Denver Botanical Gardens to get more now that I am home.

I wish you all a safe and fun weekend...Diane

There are over 100 species and thousands of cultivars. They form a group of plants that can be erect scrubs, climbing or trailing with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Flowers vary in size and shape and are usually large and showy, in colors ranging from white through yellow and reds. Rose plants range in size from compact, miniature roses, to climbers that can reach seven meters in height.
