Red Columbine-Rocky Mountain National Park

Last week, I posted a picture of a Blue Columbine which I said was the Colorado State Flower.  This week, I am posting a Red Columbine photo which I captured on the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park.  It looks quite different than the Blue Columbine but every bit as lovely.  It blooms from June to August in the Montane and Subalpine regions of the park.  It likes moist meadows and open woods.  If you come to Estes Park and go into Rocky Mountain National Park during the summer, you may just be lucky enough to see both of these beauties.

Enjoy your weekend,
