Wildflower Photo - Rocky Mountain National Park - Blue Pasque Flowers

It is February and I am already thinking of Spring.  One of the first flowers to come up and bloom in and around Rocky Mountain National Park is the Pasque Flower.  It is so delicate and beautiful and I often wonder how it withstands the cold days and sometimes snow that we can experience in the Rocky Mountain National Park area in the Spring.

It won't be long now and the Pasque Flower will be popping up in many places where I live.  I hope that one day you will be lucky enough to see them.  They are precious.

This flower blooms early in Spring which leads to the common name Pasque flower since Pasque refers to Easter (Passover).
